Welcome!

Media Makers & No Drama!

Are you at key stage 4 or 5 (aged 14-18) and into theatre practice?

No Drama! Start making some...

Create your own piece of theatre from start to performance with experienced performer and director Sam Buist. Once you created your piece in a small group you will direct, act and produce it, deciding what technical or techniques can add an exciting edge and hone skills. You'll take away a DVD of your performance and some photos, too.
Two day workshop - October 25th & 26th

Media Makers and No Drama! come together to showcase their work on stage to a real live audience, part of The Continental’s summer programme. You’ll get to introduce your film, read your stories, show your photos or perform your theatre piece. Invite your family and friends. A fabulous finish to a great bit of creativity. £5 per ticket, 2 free tickets per course.

How do the workshops fit together?

Want to write and make films? Take photography and make a theatre piece about what you shot? Just go and have a creative conversation with yourself! You can do one or two or three or all of these workshop series. Tutors will be aware of what you’re doing in the other workshops and will guide your skills cross over. If you’re doing theatre practice and film you could devise a theatre piece to undergo creative filmmaking, or of course you could write a short story or include photographs in your finished film, too. Or you could stick to one and focus all your energy there. You can make as many creative pieces as you like. Just play with your creativity. It’s your choice.

Why should I?
With it being your choice, it’s bound to help your studies and to extend your creative portfolio. When teachers ask what you did over summer, you’ll have something to show them. Or if you’re looking to get onto creative A-levels, BTECs, HNC/D’s, or arts degrees, you’ll have extracurricular work to show at interview. The workshops are taught by mainstream educationalists who are also practicing creatives, so you get real creative input and skills.
